To our community members,
We are so sorry for inconvenience caused this weekend. We understand that there are many questions and concerns regarding of why the Ariyalai Get Together has been cancelled. To start with, we had a very good communication with the hall owner and confirmed all details of the event. A deposit of $4500 was given already. There is agreement that the remainder of $1500 will be given on the day of the event.
On Thursday, we were told by hall owner that there was a water issue and the event could not happen. As we are all working individuals and most work late we were unable to call people individually right away. This is why we emailed you to let you know as soon as possible as it’s already last minute.
The day after we came to know there is a landlord issue with Asiana. Please see the attached document of the notice on the door of the hall.
The owner mentioned that he is deeply sorry and that everything is resolved now and is opening up everything starting Monday. We are now waiting to see if this is true or not. Requesting our deposit back is not a option at the moment as it can lead us into potential legal issue and more delay.
As of right now, June 10th 2023 is the new date for the Ariyalai Get together at the same hall.
The commitee has put in a lot of effort and hours to make sure we run things smoothly and we are not to blame. We are kindly asking our community to be please be understanding and patient. This is equally frustrating for us as well.
The commitee members are currently working aggressively with the owner to make sure this event happens on June 10th 2023.
We will inform you via email first if any other changes come up.
