யாழ். அரியாலையைப் பிறப்பிடமாகவும், வசிப்பிடமாகவும் கொண்ட கந்தையா மகாலிங்கம் அவர்கள் 27-03-2018 செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை அன்று காலமானார்.

அன்னார், காலஞ்சென்றவர்களான கந்தையா கனகம்மா தம்பதிகளின் அன்பு மகனும்,

புஷ்பராணி அவர்களின் அன்புக் கணவரும்,

மஞ்சுளா, மகிழா, காண்டீபன்(முகாமையாளர்- NDB Bank, யாழ்ப்பாணம்), காஞ்சனா ஆகியோரின் அன்புத் தந்தையும்,

சண்முகலிங்கம், காலஞ்சென்ற பரமலிங்கம் ஆகியோரின் அன்புச் சகோதரரும்,

சிறி இராகுலன், பாலசந்திரன், சுரேந்திரன், மந்தாகினி ஆகியோரின் அன்பு மாமனாரும்,

துரைராசா அவர்களின் அன்பு மைத்துனரும்,

பிரதீப், பிரவீன், நிஷாலினி, தனுஷிகா, துளசி, விசாலி, ஹரிணி, மகதி ஆகியோரின் அன்புப் பேரனும் ஆவார்.

அன்னாரின் பூதவுடல் 28-03-2018 புதன்கிழமை அன்று பி.ப 04:30 மணியளவில் அரியாலை சித்துபாத்தி இந்து மயானத்தில் தகனம் செய்யப்படும்.

இவ் அறிவித்தலை உற்றார், உறவினர், நண்பர்கள் அனைவரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

எனது ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்கள். இவர் மகா பெரும் விளையாட்டு வீரர். இவரைப்பற்றி புத்தகங்களை எழுதலாம். இவரை தமிழ் யுனியன் நல்ல வேலை கொடுத்து தங்களுக்கு கிரிக்கட் விளையாட கூப்பிட்டார்கள். அவர் பெற்றோர், ஊர் பற்றினால் அதை ஏற்க வில்லை.

Its very sad the second of the three great sports sons late Mr & Mrs Kandiah is also lost,I remember the young days playing cricket with Mr Mahalingam's two younger brothers in the ACC grounds in Punkankulam Road,The father Mr Kandiah had this shop adjacent to the Community center The and the sons are like brothers and he watches all of the sons SJC games coming on his bicycle.

I remember watching Mr Mahalingam batting for SJC in 1952/53 as young SJC schoolboy and his football games also Ten years latter i had him as the 1st eleven cricket coach at the same school. He calls me 'Somar' and ask me to face his fast bowling with no fear,I very nearly made it to play for the college, but a little football accident cost me my cricket. He was at my Jaffna wedding in 1979,I have met him here in the UK in 2003. I missed visiting him in 2016 when i visited my sister lives in the same Kachcheri East Lane.I also know his wife's parents well My heartfelt condolence to all in Family

We are sorry to hear about the death of our famous sportsman I knew him and his family very well he played a part in my football career at St.johns college he will be missed .Our heartfelt sympathies go to his family and friends.
